Terms and Conditions

The rules for joining and taking part in a Skills and Co. course.

In short: your seat is confirmed once you pay. Classes are live and timings are in IST. Treat everyone in class with respect, keep the course material to yourself, and do not record sessions. Our courses are digital services, so fees are non-refundable once you enrol (see our Refund and Cancellation Policy). Indian law applies.

1. About these terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to the live online English speaking and communication courses offered by Skills and Co. ("Skills and Co.", "we", "us" or "our") through this website and through skillsandco.in. "You" means the person who enrols in a course or uses this website.

By enrolling in a course, paying for a plan or using this website, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund and Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree, please do not enrol.

2. The course

Our courses are live, trainer-led online classes in English speaking and communication. We currently offer two plans:

  • 1 Month Access: live classes three days a week for one month, as described on our website.
  • 3 Months Mastery: the full programme of 12 modules across 3 levels, including certification on completion and the enrolment bonuses.

What each plan includes is what our website or your enrolment confirmation shows at the time you pay. We may improve or update course content over time, as long as the overall value of your plan is not reduced.

Your plan's access period starts on the first class of the batch you join, not on the date you pay. Student community access, including "lifetime" access in the 3 Months Mastery plan, lasts for as long as Skills and Co. runs that community.

3. Enrolment and eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to enrol yourself. A person under 18 may join only if a parent or lawful guardian enrols them and accepts these Terms on their behalf.
  • You must give accurate details when you enrol, including your name, email address and phone number, and keep them up to date.
  • Your seat in a batch is confirmed only after we receive your full payment and send you a confirmation.
  • Your enrolment is personal to you. You may not share your seat, class links or login details with anyone else, or transfer your enrolment to another person without our written consent.
  • You need a device, a stable internet connection, a working microphone and, where asked, a camera to take part. You are responsible for these.

4. Fees and payment

  • Course fees are shown on our website or quoted to you before you pay, in Indian Rupees unless we say otherwise. Applicable taxes, such as GST, are shown at checkout or on your invoice.
  • Payments are processed by a third-party payment gateway. We do not see or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net banking password. The gateway's own terms also apply to your payment.
  • If a payment fails or is reversed, your seat is not confirmed until the full fee is received.
  • We may change our fees for future enrolments. A change does not affect a plan you have already paid for.
  • Our courses are digital services. Once your enrolment is confirmed, your fee is non-refundable. The only exceptions, such as duplicate or failed payments, are set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

5. Batches and schedule changes

Classes run in batches on fixed days and times. All timings are in Indian Standard Time (IST).

  • We may occasionally need to reschedule a class, change a batch's timing or have another qualified trainer take a session, for example because of public holidays, illness or technical problems. We will tell you at least 24 hours in advance where we can, and we will offer a replacement class for any class we cancel.
  • If we cannot run a batch at all, we will move you to another batch at no extra cost, as set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
  • Classes you miss for your own reasons are not refunded or carried forward. Where seats allow, you may attend the same class in another running batch during your access period.
  • You may ask to move to a different batch once during your access period, free of charge, subject to seat availability.

6. Conduct in live classes

Our classes work because people feel safe to speak and make mistakes. In every class and in the student community, you agree to:

  • treat the trainer and other students with respect, and never harass, bully, threaten or discriminate against anyone, including on the basis of gender, caste, religion, region, language, accent or disability;
  • not share offensive, sexual, hateful or illegal content, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
  • not disrupt a class, and follow the trainer's instructions on muting, camera use and turn-taking;
  • not advertise, sell or promote anything to other students, or collect their contact details for that purpose;
  • keep what other students share in class confidential.

If you break these rules, we may mute you, remove you from a class, or suspend or end your enrolment. If we end your enrolment for serious or repeated misconduct, we do not refund your fee.

7. Recordings

You may not record, photograph, screenshot, stream or rebroadcast any class, in whole or in part, by any means. Other students have not agreed to appear in your recordings.

Our classes are live and are not routinely recorded. If we record a session, for example for quality checks or for students who miss it, we will tell everyone at the start of that session. Any recording we share is for your personal use during your access period only.

8. Course material

Course material includes class content, slides, worksheets, assignments, e-books, cheatsheets, phrase lists, bonus material and any recordings we share. When you enrol, we give you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use this material for your own learning.

You may not copy, share, sell, resell, upload, publish or distribute any course material, or use it to train others or to build a competing course or product, without our written permission.

9. Certification

Certification is part of the 3 Months Mastery plan. To receive a certificate, you need to attend at least 75% of your batch's live classes and complete the assignments set during the course. We decide whether these requirements are met.

Unless we say otherwise in writing, the certificate is issued by Skills and Co. to record that you completed our course. It is not a degree, diploma or qualification from a university or government body. We may withdraw a certificate obtained through false information or misconduct.

10. No guaranteed results

We work hard to help you speak with confidence, but results depend on your own practice and circumstances. We do not promise any particular outcome, such as a job, promotion, salary, interview result or test score.

11. Intellectual property

The Skills and Co. name and logo, this website, and all course material belong to Skills and Co. or to people who have licensed them to us, and are protected by Indian and international intellectual property laws. Except for the personal licence in section 8, these Terms do not give you any rights in them.

We will ask for your consent before we use your name, photo, video or testimonial in our marketing, and you may withdraw that consent at any time.

12. Third-party services

We use third-party services to run our courses, such as video meeting platforms, messaging apps and payment gateways. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their outages or failures, but we will help you where we reasonably can.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • we provide this website and our courses with reasonable care and skill, but we do not promise that they will always be available or free of errors;
  • we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of income, opportunity, data or goodwill, arising from your use of this website or our courses;
  • our total liability to you for any claim about a course is limited to the fees you paid us for that course.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, or your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

14. Suspension and termination

You may stop attending at any time, but your fee is not refunded, as set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if your payment is reversed, or if we have to for legal reasons. Sections 8, 11, 13 and 16 continue to apply after your enrolment ends.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Changes do not apply to a batch you have already paid for unless the law requires it or the change is in your favour.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a complaint, please contact us first and we will try to resolve it quickly and fairly.

Subject to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the courts in the city where Skills and Co. has its registered office have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms.

17. Contact and grievances

For questions about these Terms, or to raise a complaint, write to us via skillsandco.in. We will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within one month.
